First - Charlie is now 9 1/2 months old. He had a doctor appointment this morning and is still at the 95th percentile for height and 70th for weight, he's a very healthy boy. He is crawling like crazy and has been since mid-March. He now pulls himself up to a standing position any time he can. He "cruises" the furniture and once in a awhile lets go and stands on his own for a few seconds. I'm sure he'll be walking in no time. He has a few words in his spoken vocabulary. "Daddy" is his favorite, clearest and most used word. Anything he recognizes and doesn't know what to call it, is then called 'daddy." Although they are babyish sounding, if he slows down he can say "tree, doggy, kitty, out, and mama." He is starting to mimick sounds and tries new words like 'truck' and 'stinky'; this morning he started saying "aachew" I think he's heard Greg sneeze too often because when he said it I wanted to say "bless you!" He is a live-wire and so much fun. He is 100% boy playing hard and in constant motion. He has a great "roar" when we play bears and lions and he loves to play with anything that has wheels. He spins them really fast and is facinated with how things like that work.
Now onto other things... Greg has moved departments at ITD and is really enjoying his new position and department. After some minor foot surgery that landed Greg on crutches and in a boot for a few weeks it is now back in working order. We took our first family vacation this past April to the Oregon Coast. We spent about 9 days on the northern coast and in Portland. Greg and I learned it's work traveling with a baby but Charlie was really good the whole trip and we had a great time even in the chilly wet weather. Greg's mom Margo came to visit for a long weekend. How Charlie had grown since she last saw him at 1 month. They had a great time getting to know each other and it was so nice to have her visit. Then we zipped down to Utah for a weekend to see my nephew off on his mission and see my sisters family. Oh how we wished family lived closer, we miss them when they are away. Needless to say we had about 5 weeks of constant GO GO GO! But it's been great!
Below are some pictures from our past few months.
